PILATES
Pilates is the foundation of our movement work for core strength and good breathing. We emphasise good posture with correct movement mechanics for healthy joints, long and lean muscles with a truly strong and supple body.
PILATES FOR EVERYDAY LIFE
Breathing well, utilising the full capacity of our lungs for all the different tasks and challenges in our daily life gives one a good sense of energy and even calmness. We want our clients to be able to go through life with good posture and execute daily activities with ease. We enjoy seeing our clients having increasing body awareness and making mindful movement choices in physical activities. And most of all, we want to create and maintain a more efficient body which will be less prone to future pains and injuries.
PILATES FOR BACK PAIN
Back pain can be caused by many reasons, and it can debilitate our quality of life. Our programme addresses your pain management strategy with effective corrective exercises that will lead you towards enjoying the freedom to move well again.
PILATES FOR POST-REHAB
We see post-rehabilitative clients with disc issues, osteoporosis, post-stroke, degeneration, shoulder impingement, hip replacement, knee issues, shoulder injuries, whiplash, post-accident and scoliosis, among others. We also use the Pilates The progressive system of therapeutic exercises aims to take clients from the stages of post-rehabilitation to the final stage of a highly functional programme. We also use Pilates to help sustain muscle and nerve movement potential for special populations like Parkinson’s disease.
PILATES FOR PRE-SURGERY PREPARATION
Pre-operative fitness level is an important criteria that will determine post-operative recovery. Our studio highly encourage pre-operative Pilates work to prepare the body with better wellness and good biomechanics prior to any joint surgery, as an aid to post-recovery.
PILATES FOR SPORTS
The better movement work is beneficial as a safe sports conditioning to enhance athletic power. Stretching and strengthening, pliability and endurance, as well as a balanced and aligned body is highly valuable for the athlete.
PILATES FOR PRE-NATAL AND POST-NATAL
Pregnancy is a time when the body undergoes different changes month by month, and thus your Pilates programme will take into consideration the most effective and safest exercises to adapt to these changes. We hope the exercise methodology prepares you for the rigours of labour and for motherhood. Post-natal Pilates is just as important for recovery and for the new demands on your body in caring for your baby. We hope you look and feel good before, during and after your pregnancy!
PILATES FOR DANCE
The Pilates and better movement method complement dance and as with sports, to train the body to be strong, stable and supple, from the inside out. Body conditioning with emphasis on body alignment and loading from the studio equipment will maintain and build healthy joints and musculature. A long and lean body with good sense of proprioception and grounding is our goal.
PILATES FOR GERIATRIC
Aging well with good joint mobility makes a huge difference to quality of life. Our equipment provides adequate loading for bone health, to prevent and manage osteoporosis. Balance is another component we place focus on, to prevent falls. We want to see our geriatric clients having good sense of body and space and stay agile and strong for many years to come.
